After years of building the Lady Shelly brand, she has decided to officially change her name to Karamanti. All appearances scheduled under the name Lady shelly will be honored. The website www.ladyshelly.com will stay active until January 2011, at which time the account will be cancelled.
It has just been confirmed that dancehall artist, Lady Shelly, otherwise known as Karamanti, will join the likes of Mr. Vegas, Baby Cham and Lady Saw at the 2010 Montreal Reggae Festival on dancehall night.
After over coming serious health issues in 2009 that prevented her from giving a 100% to her musical career, Lady Shelly started 2010 blazing. She released two mixed CDs both of which were done by acclaimed international DJs, and has released a slew of singles to go along with them. She acknowledges that even though all that she has done so far in 2010 is quite an achievement, getting the nod to be a part of the Montreal International Reggae Festival is the pinnacle.
The Montreal International Reggae Festival is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated reggae festivals outside of Jamaica. It occurs annually in Montreal, Quebec and features only the best in reggae and dancehall. Artists that have been featured at the festival in past years are Queen Ifrica, Kymani Marley, Third World, Tony Rebel, Luciano, Dean Fraser, Mikey General, Capleton, Anthony B, I Wayne and that is just to name a few. This year the festival runs from August 6th to 8th with dancehall night being the 7th.
